VTN Master Control Operator


Reports To: Master Control Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Description:
The Victory Television Network (VTN) is seeking a full-time Master Control Operator. Position is responsible for the video and audio integrity of all VTN signals associated with stations KVTN/Little Rock, KVTH/Hot Springs and KVTJ/Jonesboro. Position is full time and must be available for all shifts including weekends, holidays and the possibility of overnights as VTN is on the air 24/7.

Work Environment:
VTN network headquarters are located on a 12-acre campus at 701 Napa Valley Drive in west Little Rock. Duties of this position are primarily performed in the climate controlled Master Control facility at the main studio and offices located at the above address. Position requires sitting for a majority of each shift.

Essential Job Functions:
• Monitoring incoming and outgoing signals from all VTN TV station transmitters
• Monitor transmitter health via remote software
• Air all network programming utilizing automation software
• Record, edit, and upload programs from tape, DVD, and media files (FTP)
• Assist engineering in troubleshooting problems in Master Control or at transmitters
• Follow emergency protocols to fix off-air or security problems

Qualifications:
• Applicant must be versatile and capable of learning specialized software applications, and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment
• Able to work in a deadline-driven environment, capable of working under pressure and skilled at performing and tracking multiple tasks during each shift
• Strong time management and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work flexible shift hours including weekends, and holidays.
• TV or radio board operator experience is a plus
• A shared passion for touching the lives of viewers with The Good News of Jesus Christ.

KVTN-DT Chief Engineer


Reports To: VTN General Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

Principal Purpose of Job:
The Chief Engineer is a hands-on engineer with a solid RF background who will develop and manage the engineering plan for our network of three full-power commercial TV stations; oversee all engineering personnel; personally perform preventative maintenance and repairs at our three main transmitter sites and four microwave sites. The employee will work at the VTN (Victory Television Network) main studio and offices located at 701 Napa Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas and at seven other tower sites in our coverage area.

Work Environment:
Duties are performed inside the main TV station facility; and at 7 other tower sites in our coverage area. Employee will work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

Essential Job Functions:
• Manage the daily technical operations of the network of stations.
• Personally perform or delegate preventive maintenance, diagnosis and repair at our three main transmitter sites and four microwave sites.
• Recruit, hire, train and oversee all engineering personnel.
• Insure compliance with all FCC, OSHA, FAA, EEO regulations as well as all local, county or state ordinances governing our physical plants and 8 tower sites.
• Ongoing planning and updating of our broadcasting systems.
• Coordinate and work with IT personnel on a variety of projects and equipment arrays that have an IT framework.
• Implement, and maintain systems to track/follow-up daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and special engineering tasks.
• Communicate regularly with General Manager and other VTN Department Heads regarding engineering objectives and network objectives.

Qualifications and Capabilities:
• Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in electrical engineering, computer sciences or a related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering or Department Head position in the broadcast engineering field.
• 5+ years’ experience working on UHF transmitters and microwave systems. Pluses are SBE certifications and experience with Axcera transmitters.
• Knowledge of current FCC/FAA regs and the ability to insure our stations` compliance is crucial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Verifiable time management and project management skills
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Must be able to work collaboratively with team members
• Solid computer background, with demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products and commonly used smartphone applications.
• Detail oriented and highly accurate in record keeping and work habits.
• Position requires working in confined spaces; frequent climbing of ladders, and frequently lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.

KVTN-DT Senior Producer


Reports To: VTN General Manager
FSLA Status: Exempt

Principal Purpose of Job:
The Senior Producer will oversee, assist, mentor and coach our Producers in every aspect of show production and post-production. The employee will work at the VTN (Victory Television Network) main studio and offices located at 701 Napa Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas. The employee may work on TV production projects away from the studio on rare occasion.

Work Environment:
Duties are performed inside the main TV station facility; and on field production projects away from the main facility. While a significant amount of the duties are performed inside climate controlled facilities, some duties are performed outside as needed from time to time in all four seasons and a variety of weather conditions.

Essential Job Functions:
Supervise, assist and provide creative guidance to show producers and other production personnel in the production and post-production of our daily, weekly and special event programs.
• Oversee all program production task calendars to ensure that program project deadlines are met.
• Provide oversight and input on program and promo scripting.

Coordinate with program hosts and producers on long-range program goals. Work with producers to keep programs on target with agreed upon goals.
• For program episodes involving guest interviews, offer guidance and assistance on guest recruitment for interview segments.
• Work with program hosts to maximize their interview skills.
• Work with Producers to design innovative graphics appropriate to each show.
• Coordinate with Producers and Promotion Director to develop a viable show promotion strategy.

Qualifications and Capabilities:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio/TV/Film, or equivalent work experience.

7+ years successful experience as a Producer, Senior Producer or Executive Producer in television. Experience as a Producer in the Christian television format is a plus.

A shared passion for touching the lives of viewers with The Good News of Jesus Christ.

Coaching/supervisory style should be decisive and collaborative.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed.

Verifiable time management and project management skills are critical.

Solid experience in non-linear editing is required. Experience on Final Cut Pro is a plus.

Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
