MORE THAN A CHAMPION - with Hayden Hendrix

INTERVIEW WITH HAYDEN HENDRIX - haydenhendrix.com

When and how did you come to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

When I was about 12 years old my father gave his life to Christ I responded shortly after.  The transformation in my Dad was amazing and his love and excitement for God was monumental in my life.  Just read the last verse in the Old Testament, Malachi 4:6 "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers..."

What kind of challenges have you had to overcome in your life?

God has helped me overcome... a broken home - now all my family is saved!

  • A speech impediment - now I speak to millions every year.
  • Learning disabilities - now I have a masters in education.
  • Physical problems - now I travel the world using feats of strength to reach millions of people with the gospel.
  •

How did you get started in this type of ministry?

Since my early 20s I had followed God's word in telling people about Jesus.  I had always been involved in sports and the two made a great vehicle to share Christ.

When was the first time you used your physical strength in ministry?

When I played college football I suppose.  Right after a game I shared the good news of Jesus to a group of high schools students in the stadium.

How does your physical strength help you in your ministry?

Physical strength is simply the tool, like someone who sings or plays an instrument.  I reach those without Christ and help pastors grow churches.

What is your favorite part of what you do?

The last five minutes of a crusade when hundreds of people walk forward to accept Christ as their Lord and the host church only runs about 80 people on Sunday.  More people are saved in one night than the entire host church attendance.  It always blows the the pastors minds.  It's church growth the old fashion way... with winning the lost!

In your ministry you smash concrete with your arms, break bats over your knees, bend metal with your teeth, and burst water bottles with your lungs. What is the hardest thing you do?

Running through four 2x4's taped together.   It has the most potential for injury.  But most everything I do has some element of danger.

What do you want people to feel after they watch one of your segments on VTN?

    Do something.
